Application Instructions - Temporary Tattoos
- Don't worry if your tattoo doesn't look like you are expecting, it's printed in reverse so you are initially seeing the back, which may have some white printed so that it shows up nicely once applied :)
- Cut around the design as close as you can sensibly, you can use a pair of scissors or knife. It's ok to leave a few mm space as the edges will be barely visible once applied.
- Peel off the clear glossy backing and make sure you don't touch the surface of the design as it's very sticky and this is what makes it adhere to the skin once applied.
- Clean the area and ideally apply to somewhere with no hairs. Feel free to shave the area if required. The skin must be completely DRY or the tattoo won't stick properly.
- Soak the Tattoo with a fairly wet sponge or smooth cloth (you could use an old t-shirt for example, it won't get damaged, it's just to wet the backing paper. Hold the wet sponge/cloth on the paper and make sure the whole area is soaked with water so it's almost dripping. The paper is darker when wet so you will be able to see if any part of the paper isn't wet. Soak for around 30 seconds.
- Then you can slide off or peel the paper backing off to reveal the tattoo. If it feels like it's sticking somewhere, apply more water to that area, if it's all wet, it should slide off freely.
- Gently press on the tattoo itself with the wet sponge/cloth to press it on to the skin, then allow to dry.
NOTES - - The tattoo has a high adhesive effect. Depending on the design and its size as well as where the tattoo is placed, the durability is about 2-4+ days.
- If you wish to remove your tattoo earlier, you can simply use sticky tape / scotch tape or use skin oils and rub it off.
- If you like a more matte looking appearance, you can rub sun cream carefully over your new tattoo.
Let customers speak for us
from 854 reviewsSubmitted artwork while they were on shut-down, but as soon as they returned they got in touch and within a day I had the first proofs. Sadly due to a miscommunication they were not quite right, nevbertheless they printed a new set and we had them the following day. Cannot rate these guys highly enough.
Excellent company to use, quick reply, great advice and work from Phil. Product looks fantastic on the headstock of the guitar. I got totally what I required and when I need more will definitely be in contact again. Top rated, cannot fault any of the service. Thank you. Graham Hook
Extremely high-quality printing, excellent customer service and rapid delivery. If every company and organisation operated like this, the UK would be a different place. Highly recommended
Finding this company was priceless. I floundered on how and where to do my decals but Phil took all my requests and turned them around quickly, giving me everything I asked for. I’m still finishing off my two year scratch build project and will need more decals soon, so these guys will be the only company I turn to. I have a future project of a similar vein so I’ll be returning for more decals. Thank you for such great work and a quality product
Speed of service: Excellent. Quality: Superb. Satisfaction: Off the Chart. Need I say more?
Fist time using Phoxy and they didn't disappoint. The print quality of the decals was very good and the turnaround very fast. Fist application on a model after trimming to the print line was first class and sealing after with matt varnish the carrier film disappeared.
Really impressed by my first waterslide decal order. Excellent quality, nicely finished and very fast dispatch. Thank you.
I sent a a few pages of designs for mugs, coasters etc. Speedy turnaround and gave me great results. Great customer/client contact checking an error on my part on the order - sorted quickly by email exchange.
Exactly what I needed. Good quality, quick delivery and overall an excellent service.
